From their Excellencies:
We had our first Baronial Social Gathering and Rapier practice. Thirty-five people showed up! We had so much fun in between bouts of rain! Everyone was still able to go with the flow. It was lovely to see everyone. Several people in our neighborhood came by and asked about what was going on 🙂 The food and conversation were wonderful! Thank you to everyone who came early to set up and stayed late to pack up.
On a more somber note, Their Excellencies will be stepping down in November at Holiday Faire. A polling is coming! If you are at all interested in serving as Baron and Baroness – please talk with us. Prepare a letter of intent and make sure it is submitted.
*All members of the Barony should make sure their ESP settings are up to date. This polling will be all electronic.*
Updates from the Seneschal:
Our regional Seneschal is going to be sending a polling and an official announcement seeking Letters of Intent as soon as Their Majesties officially approve the dates. YOU can still start prepping if you would like to be considered! Letters should be sent to Lady Jenefer, the Regional Seneschal, and Their Majesties. Paper ballots can be requested from the regional seneschal. Polling should close sometime in October.
There will be no August business meeting. The next meeting will be in September on the second Tuesday of the month.
Lady Jenefer’s warrant as our Seneschal is up in February. She will not be renewing and is seeking a replacement who can step up as a deputy now. Look for more info from Lady Jenefer on the job requirements. Any officer that will be stepping down in the next year should also be advertising and actively looking for a replacement!

Old Business:
Event Bid for Holiday Faire
Lord Edward is struggling with the site for Holiday Faire. The site has a deposit but has not yet provided a contract. Lady Runa has offered to assist in getting in touch with the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds.
Mounting blocks from storage
Last month, we discussed the Equestrian mounting block (three nesting wooden steps) that have lived in our Baronial storage since time in-memorial. We are unable to contact the good gentle who donated these to the barony. Lady Jenefer suggested waiting until our next business meeting to discuss what to do with these items,
New Business:
Baroness Rignach proposed a bid for Baronial Birthday! The proposal is to have a hunt at Mountain Run Winery. Teams will participate in challenges on the list field, the archery field, the equestrian field and more! This will be a three day event. Tournaments will run all afternoon on Saturday. A picnic type feast will be served on Saturday evening with torch light tourneys on Saturday night. A pancake breakfast will be served on Sunday morning (for a small donation).
A motion was made to approve a DNE $4000.00 budget for Baronial Birthday! Nine members voted in favor of the budget. None opposed. The motion passed.
Thank you for all your efforts Baroness Rignach and Baroness Cynthia 🙂
Populace Comments:
None submitted.
Closing Remarks from Their Excellencies
So many events are coming up! Join us at our Pennsic Court on Monday night of War Week at Steribach camp followed by our traditional Pot Luck and Ice Cream Social.
PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! We accept emails, messages, and award recommendations through the ESP. The ESP is the best way to get us info, but we will take what we can get! Send us stuff and tell us all the great things that are going on! Thank you to those who are sending us messages 🙂
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
