From their Excellencies:
Welcome! We had a wonderful time at Baronial Birthday. Thank you again to Lady Rita for a fantastic event. You and your staff did a wonderful job. It was a great day.
Updates from the Seneschal:
It was lovely to see so many of you at Baronial Birthday last month. Special thanks to Lady Rita and her staff. We are hoping to have a new Knight’s Marshal very soon. Sir Bumi is very close to finishing the requirements for this position. Quarterly reports were recently due. If you had a report due and it has not been filed yet, please make sure you do so.
Officer Reports:
QuarterMaster: We will be loading up a trailer Thursday at 5:30 to grab stuff for Baronial Birthday. We would love your help if you can come out.
Exchequer: A separate report with financial details is attached at the end.
We are writing checks to close out Baronial Birthday but it still looks like we will be making a profit from Baronial Birthday thanks to the strong attendance. Reservations are also rolling in for Holiday Faire through both SCORES and through check.
A vote was held to re-approve the expense of marine coolers for the Barional Pennsic Camp. The motion was passed with a vote of 9 for and none against.
We are looking for a deputy exchequer!
Knights Marshall: No report.
Minister of the list: No report
MOAS: Upcoming classes include making Halloween masks, Card-weaving, and an Autocraticing 101 class through ZOOM. We will also be scheduling a potluck for November.
Check the website for A&S details for Holiday Faire.
Herald: Lady Katherine was approached at Baronial Birthday about a name submission, but most of her attention has been focused on Holiday Faire.
Chronicler: The blog continues. Newsletters are being sent to Kingdom as they are published 🙂 Send Genefe content for the blog please. (chronicler@stierbach.atlantia.sca.org)
If you are looking for a way to get involved – Genefe would love a deputy.
Chatelaine: No report.
WebMinister: The website for Holiday Faire got a major update this week. If there are any errors or other updates required, please contact Master Richard.
Old Business:
Holiday Faire Update:
We have a little over 20 vendors signed up for Holiday Faire. We have our Martial positions filled. There will be both a morning and evening court per Her Majesty’s request. We are also looking for volunteers to help with set-up and tear-down.
There was a discussion of where the proceeds from the Silent Auction will end up. It was tabled.
SCORES is live so please register if you have not! Lady Rita asked if there were any Children’s Activities planned for Holiday Faire. There will be two A&S classes for youth on the schedule.
From Sir Bumi: Sir Bumi could not be here but sent a request to the Seneschal to consider again his proposal for $1600 for armor and materials to help break down barriers to enter heavy fighting. A lively discussion was had between members of the populace. It was decided to give Mistress Ceridwen a chance to double-check that this falls within our rules.
From Edward Perry:
Edward is interested in running a Fall Crown Tourney here in Stierbach with funds and volunteers from within the Barony. Edward is proposing a Spring Crown Tourney in 2027 OR an Arts and Sciences Festival. Tegan of Angelsey let us know that Ponte Alto was considering putting a bid in for a Fall Crown Tourney in 2027. The suggestion was made to host a joint event with Ponte Alto.
From Tegan of Angelsey:
A request was made to host a melee practice at the Fredericksburg Fair Grounds in January and February of 2026. A suggestion was made to fund this event again this year partly using our Silent Auction funds. Mistress Genefe made a motion to provide the funds to once again support this practice. Lady Rita seconded and a vote was taken. The motion passed with 10 in favor and none opposed.
The discussion of where to put the proceeds from our Silent Auction was resumed. Lord Gaius voiced his support for helping to offset the cost of the melee practice. Lady Jenefyr expressed her support to help support the practice as a great way to give back to our fighting community. His Excellency also supported this. Lady Rita put forth a motion to use the proceeds from the Silent Auction to pay for the Regional Melee practice and anything over $800 be donated to our Kingdom Travel Fund. Lady Arielle seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the motion passed with 9 in favor and none opposed.
Populace Comments:
Members of the populace expressed their support for Sir Bumi’s proposal.
Closing Remarks from their Excellencies
We have a new member of the nobility. Congratulations to Lord Ari of the Long Marshes! We were unfortunately not able to attend Coronation but we were well represented. His Excellency is planning on attending the Hallowed Market, Fall Crown Tourney, and Holiday Faire. We would love to see you there! Please let us know whether or not you will be attending. We are also talking about putting together a Stierbach Coalition for Twelfth Night. Who is with us?!
PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! We accept emails, messages, and award recommendations through the esp. The esp is really the best way to get us info but we will take what we can get! Send us stuff and tell us all the great things that are going on! Thank you to those who are sending us messages 🙂
Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
