Baronial Newsletter April 2026

  • Vivat for Their Majesties!

    Greeting Medieval Readers,

It has been a few weeks since our dear Barony graciously hosted the Coronation of Altlantia’s new monarchs King Wilhelm and Queen Genevieve. Now that the dust has settled a bit, your gentle Chronicler – who was also a part of the Autocrat team – will pass the pen to Her Excellency Cynthia Anne and her summary of the day’s events.

“Stierbach, we lived up to our name of being the Best Barony yesterday!! So many not only came out to celebrate – but put the work in to throw a fantastic party for our Kingdom!! Dunstan and I are so very proud to be Baron and Baroness of such a wonderful Barony! 🐄❤️🐄

We bid a fond and grateful farewell to the reign of King Athos and Queen Alianore, who were recognized for their wonderful service to Atlantia as Duke Athos Belisarius and Duchess Alianore Greymoor. Vivat to a gracious and beautiful reign!

Their heirs were crowned King Wilhelm & Queen Genevieve in a lovely ceremony that honored the lineage and history of Atlantia – and, indeed, the Society. Vivat to our new Atlantian Majesties!

The celebration was honored with visiting Royalty – His Royal Highness of Ansteorra, John Drake, as well as many family members of the new Monarchs, hailing from as far away as Ansteorra and the West. Vivat to even stronger ties Between Atlantia and other Kingdoms!

Our Baronial Cousins, here to swear fealty to Their Majesties, also brought with them delightful and wondrous displays of their Baronial histories, shown with pictures, banners, and arts and crafts. These were created at the request of Their Majesties, and overseen by Mistress Genefe Wölfelin, as stops on a pilgrimage for the populace. We especially appreciate Lady Arielle du Pontoise, Lady Katherine Ravenshill, Lady Rita die Perle von der Wetterau, Lord Eachan de Barde, Lord Norbert Dolittle, and Lord Etan de Askani for making Stierbach’s contribution to the pilgrimage absolutely shine. Vivat to the creative and long-lived Baronies of Atlantia!

The event was skillfully run by Lady Jenefer de Winter, Lady Runa Skógadóttir, and the aforementioned Mistress Genefe Wölfelin, who not only had every detail organized, but made the day and the halls a thing of beauty, and a true celebration of Atlantian excellence. Vivat to the Event Stewards!

The Staff who assisted the Dream Team with bringing this event to life were Mistress Ceridwen ferch Rhys ap Michael, Lord Gaius Marius Valerius and the team at Gate, Sir Ragnarr Ribcracker with Heavy Fighting, Lord Fujina Sadatoshi with Rapier, Baron Wulff Nuremberger with Archery, and Lady Arielle with A & S. Vivat to the excellent Coronation Staff!

Organizing a delightful Cultura Atlantia was Our Cousin of Highland Foorde, Magistra Beatriz Aluares de la Oye. Vivat to the Artisans of Atlantia!

Lady Danielle Clare d’Avignon planned and created a sumptuous day board, and Baroness Rignach of Argyll decorated the serving tables with true Atlantian splendor, both delicious food and beautiful table honoring Their Majesties and welcoming all guests. Lady Danielle was assisted in the kitchen and hall by Noble Charlie and Emily, Baroness Rignach, Lord Jasper of Hartshorn-dale of Wolfhau, Magnifica Helena Hrolfsdottir – and a lovely lady in blue whose name I failed to write down! (…if this was you, please contact me so that I can thank you by name! ❤️🐄)

Several of Stierbach’s stalwart Champions – Lady Unegiin, Lord Throgrimr Kraka, and Noble Leah of Stierbach – as well as Our Herald Lady Katharine, Our Head Retainer Baroness Rignach, Jackie, and the wonderful Lord Iacobo and Lady Malka were crucial in setting up and tearing down Court. There were many more wonderful Stierbachians whose names may not have reached Our ears, but whose hearts and work are, nonetheless, cherished for having helped Stierbach to welcome all to this celebration of Atlantia. Vivat to the hardworking and reliable people of the Barony of Stierbach!

Many people were recognized by the Crown and by the Baronage for their prowess, artistry, and service, including Stierbachians Lord Tatsukawa Takeo recognized with a Sea Dragon, Lady Meliora, recognized by the Crown with an Award of Arms, Lady Katharine, recognized with the Baron’s Award of Excellence, and Maestra Maddalena Salutati, recognized with both a St. Roch and the Baroness’ Award of Courtesy. Vivat Stierbachians for the recognition of their contributions!

With service, prowess, and artistry, Atlantia celebrated the conclusion of the highly successful reign of King Athos and Queen Alianore, and the beginning of the reign of King Wilhem and Queen Genevieve. Vivat, Stierbach! Vivat, Atlantia!!”

Our own Lord Thomas de Winter captured many beautiful images that day and has thoughtfully shared them all there: https://thomasbeebe.smugmug.com/Atlantia-Coronation-Spring-2026/Spring-Coronation-2026

Thankyou Your Excellency and Lord Thomas for providing such a wonderful and complete summary of this great day!

Chatelaine:  We had a demo scheduled for this past Friday – we did not have a ton of people committed to the demo and Lady Runa ended up cancelling because of a family emergency.  In regards to our Gold Key – our current collection has served the barony well. Lady Runa proposed commissioning some new garments and/or purchasing trim to clean up what we have.  Lady Runa requested $300 to update our Gold Key and $40 for a banner.  There was some question about using the St. Anne’s Guild Fund for dressing up our Gold Key.  Lady Runa offered to head up this project. Concerns were also brought up regarding the storage of our Gold Key.  Lady Runa hopes to get the number of totes down from 10 to 4.

A motion was put forth to set aside $500 for the Chataline to update Gold Key.  The motion passed with 9 yays and no nays.
