From their Excellencies:

Hello there!  It’s been a quiet month.  We were cloistered in contemplation for the last few weeks.  We hope everyone has managed to stay warm and is dug out from the ice and snow.  The next event we will be attending is Kingdom A&S.  We are busy preparing and hoping you are too.

Updates from the Seneschal:

Not much new right now!  All officers – please send a copy of your warrant to me.  If your warrant expires this year, let me know whether you intend to stay in that position or not.

Officer Reports:

QuarterMaster:

Exchequer:

We have some questions about our annual budget requests.  The budget items for the year were approved as written with 8 members in favor and 0 opposed.

The increasing cost of equestrian insurance has brought into question whether we will be setting aside the money for equestrian practice or how much to set aside.  A motion was made to continue to earmark the $200.00 that we have set aside for the last two years.  The motion carried with a vote of 8 members in favor and 0 opposed.

A reminder that any deposits should be made within 48 business hours after receiving events funds. Mistress Ceridwen should be listed on your reservationist for all Baronial events moving forward.

Lady Rita requested a check to pay for our space at Bethel Church.  Arrangements were made to reimburse her for the $150.00.

Knights Marshall:  Absent. No report.

Minister of the list:

We have three reservations for Defending the Gate.  Lord Perry encourages you to reserve and register for Defending the Gate.  SCORES is also active for Coronation!  Please register!

MOAS:

Classes and activities for the coming year have been sent to the web minister and chronicler. There is still space available if you would like to lead a class or activity,

Current Classes through March include:

February 19, 2026: A&S CLASS Medieval Hoods (by Lady Arielle)

March 5, 2026: A&S ZOOM (TENTATIVE) Pottery

March 19, 2026: A&S CLASS (TENTATIVE) Scroll Covers (By Lady Arielle)

All in person classes are held at Bethel Lutheran Church (room B7)

8712 Plantation Ln, Manassas, VA 20110

Herald:  Absent.  No report.

Chronicler: The blog continues.  Newsletters are being sent to Kingdom as they are published 🙂  Send Genefe content for the blog please. (chronicler@stierbach.atlantia.sca.org)

If you are looking for a way to get involved – Genefe would love a deputy.

Chatelaine:  Absent.   We do have a couple of demos coming up in April.  One is the weekend after Coronation and another one at the end of April at a library in Loudoun County.  A tentative date for that demo is April 26th.

WebMinister:

The website is doing well.  Master Richard will remind Kingdom that both he and Genefe are in need of updates warrants – thank you Master Richard.

Is there anyone out there interested in taking over the Cooks Guild web presence?  Mistress Ceridwen suggested creating a series of blog posts around the Cooking Guild.

QuarterMaster:  Magnus reports no changes since our last meeting.  Their Excellencies have returned Little White and the Gold Key to the storage locker.

Old Business:

Coronation News

SCORES is live now – please register for this event.  We are in need of an Archery Marshal for Coronation.  If you know anyone who is interested, please let Lady Jenefyr know.  The budget will be presented next month.  We are well within our Do Not Exceed numbers.

Master Richard mentioned that members of the Canton have expressed concerns that hosting Defending the Gate one weekend and Coronation the next weekend might pull some support from Defending the Gate.  Our Seneschal encouraged members of the Barony to volunteer in some capacity at our Canton’s event.

Defending the Gate updates:  SCORES is now open.  We can still use help with running the gate in the morning, help with parking, and a hall steward.  The feast menu should be on the event website by the beginning of March. Any questions can be submitted to Her Excellency or directly to Mistress Helena.

New Business:

None submitted.

Populace Comments:

Closing Remarks from their Excellencies

Thank you all for staying with us through these cold months.  We appreciate your support as we move into a very busy spring!  We appreciate everything that you do – you make it so easy to represent our Barony 🙂

PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! We accept emails, messages, and award recommendations through the esp.  The esp is really the best way to get us info but we will take what we can get!  Send us stuff and tell us all the great things that are going on!  Thank you to those who are sending us messages 🙂
