From their Excellencies:
Hello Everyone! So good to see everyone and we hope you are all doing well. In case you did not hear, two of our own made it to the quarter finals of our most recent Crown Tourney. Many members of the best populace showed up and we were so happy to see you all. Vivat to Prince Athos and Princess Alianora!
His Excellency also attended LEAFS. It was a well-run and well-attended event. It was so cool to see our Equestrian community front and center. Her Excellency attended Revenge of the Stitch as a judge. If you have never been to this event, it is a very cool to see what people can create in 24 hours. Go find the pictures on the Merry Rose Facebook group. Check it out!
Updates from the Seneschal:
On Saturday June 28th – the Barony of Windmaster Hills is holding their Baronial Un-event. It is primarily focused on 101 classes for major officer positions.
Event Gate Requirements:
If you are running Troll at an event, there should always be two people working the gate for every single event. At least one of those people should be an SCA Member in good standing. Money count should be completed by three people and must include event stewards, Seneschals, or thier directly appointed representatives.
Officer Reports:
QuarterMaster: An official inventory still needs to be organized. Lord Magnus will work with Mistress Ceridwen to choose a date to be publicized. Help will be needed when the time comes.

According to our Financial Policy, the Baronial Travel Fund CAN take donations in addition to the $750 that is alloted by our Barony. Please remember that any fundraisers for this fund are private fundraisers and are in no way associated with the Barony, the Kingdom, or the SCA.
We are looking for a deputy exchequer!
Chatelaine: Vacant
Knights Marshall: No report.
Minister of the list: No report.
MOAS:
Very excited for next week! We will have a special guest from the Smithisonian teach a basic embroidery class. Information on other coming classes can be found on our Baronial Website.
The deadline for teaching at Pennsic is coming up! Make sure to register any classes you would like to teach at Pennsic University by June 1st.
Registration for the next Altantian University is open to both students and teachers. If you are interested, check out the kingdom website for more details.
Just a reminder the in-person classes are generally held at Bethel Lutheran Church (room B7) 8712 Plantation Ln, Manassas, VA 20110.
Herald:
A number of the members of our Equestrian community were recognized at LEAFS! Lady Katherine is working on a couple names for submission.
Chronicler: The blog continues. Newsletters are being sent to Kingdom as they are published 🙂 Send Genefe content for the blog please. (chronicler@stierbach.atlantia.sca.org)
WebMinister: The website is doing fine. Master Richard has put together a Newcomer’s Page. He is looking for feedback on how to make that page better and more accessible to someone unfamiliar with the SCA.
Old Business:
Baronial Birthday Update:
Planning is in progress for Baronial Birthday. Martials are in place for heavy weapons, rapier, and archery. We also have an MOL and a head troll already in place. Our autocrats have also been in touch with the site and out to visit. It is the same winery as last year.
Chatelaine Candidate Submission:
Three candidates put in a letter of intent for this position. We have not had enough time to really review these letters so we ask for some more time. We hope to make an announcement at our next Baronial Business Meeting.
New Business:
Process for Selecting Baronial Officers: When a position is announced as vacant, candidates will send a letter of intent to the Seneschal and Their Excellencies. The Seneschal and Their Excellencies will reach out with questions and a decision will be made by Their Excellencies.
Holiday Faire discussion: At this point we have not received any inquiry of interest to be the autocrat for this event. This even takes a ton of lead time to organize. The traditional date is also a VERY SOUGHT after date. If someone is willing to lead this event and can present a COMPLETE budget and bid by the next business meeting – we may still be able to have this event. Otherwise, we may have to let it go. There was a discussion about the focus of this event (An everything event VS. more specialized event). This also does not have to be the END of this event, it is possible to come back to this event. That being said, if YOU want to run this event and have the staff to make it happen – PLEASE submit a bid!
Populace Remarks:
Lady Rita mentioned that there does not seem to be a place to look for people to work events or work as event stewards.
Lady Katherine asked if we are having a Baronial encampment at Gem Joust. Pre-registration is also open for Pennsic. We DO have an encampment there and you should camp with us. Duke Logan mentioned that populace who stay at hotels can still register for land at Pennsic as a donation to the Baronial encampment.
Closing Remarks from their Excellencies
Thank you all. This was a longer meeting than we normally have but we did get good work done. Thank you for being here and being the best Barony.
There will be a Baronial dayshade at Victory on the Vine but His Excellency may not be in attendance. We could use some help with set-up of the dayshade. Thank you!!!
PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! We accept emails, messages, and award recommendations through the esp. The esp is really the best way to get us info but we will take what we can get! Send us stuff and tell us all the great things that are going on! Thank you to those who are sending us messages 🙂
Meeting adjourned at 8:24 pm.
