Hello to everyone!
Looking back, we had a wonderful birthday. It was a wonderful day and a wonderful event. Thank you for the great weather. We received some great feedback and appreciate everyone’s hard work. This past weekend was Coronation. It was a wonderful ceremony and we are so excited for our new King and Queen. It should be a very fun reign.
Populace Questions and Notes
James – Will we have a Heraldry Consult at Holiday Faire? Lady Katherine says we have the space but the staff. We are looking for someone who is good at Book Heraldry. James is going to look for a volunteer.
Officer Reports:
Seneschal: The biggest take-away after birthday is to remember the Chain of Escalation. If you are working an event, remember to move complaints and concerns up the chain (Autocrat to Seneschal). Local events will now have the locations of these two staff members posted at Troll.
We now have new sitting crowns. It should be a fun reign.

QuarterMaster: We still have a storage unit. There are still some items out and about from Baronial Birthday. These items are still with Lady Jenefyr and accounted for.
Would you like to design a new list fence? We are looking for designs and people to do the project. We also still need to do an inventory – but probably after WoW.
Her Excellency has been working to organize and re-package our Gold Key. She is looking for an electronic version of the Gold Key Inventory.
Exchequer: We are having some issues getting accurate numbers from SCORES for Baronial Birthday. We had a larger than break-even attendance so it is most likely that we made money. More details coming next month. We made some money off of Baronial Birthday!
Chatelaine: Vacant position.
Knights Marshall: SOAP is happening tomorrow 🙂 The weather should be lovely.
Minister of the list: No report.
MOAS:
We have been doing lots of cool stuff including a display and competition at Baronial Birthday. There were nine entries in our competition – thank you to our judges. We have also had a Zoom class on making Goat Cheese. Later this month we will have a class on Burgundian Gown Construction at the church on October 24th. Please keep checking the website for more information on these classes. Lady Rita has been paying for the Church rental out of her own pocket – we need to reimburse her.
A motion was made to increase the A&S budget by $300 to cover the cost of the Church donation each month ($25/ month) AND to reimburse Rita for any receipts she can provide for Church Rental. The motion was approved (14 for/ none against/ 3 abstain).
Just a reminder the in person classes are generally held at Bethel Lutheran Church (room B7) 8712 Plantation Ln, Manassas, VA 20110.
New Herald: Nothing new to report.
Chronicler: Genefe reached out to Kingdom and was asked to provide back issues of our newsletter. Genefe will submit August and September. Please send Genefe content for the blog (mpruitt085@gmail.com).
WebMinister: The MOO is back on-line. Please sign up for the MOO by sending Master Richard an email. You can get a digest OR individual emails. All official announcements should also go out through the MOO.
Event Updates:
Baronial Birthday recap – The event took place. It was a fantastic site and a wonderful event. Lessons were learned about set-up and particularly parking. It was one of our highest attended Baronial Birthdays at this site. Anway…the staff did a wonderful job. We had two incidents regarding one of our merchants who ended up yelling at our volunteers before leaving. Another attendee confronted Thomas over this same situation. These incidents led us to create the new practice of posting the contact info. of the people in-charge of the event.
Holiday Faire updates – Scores registration is open and people are using it! We have 14 merchant spaces left! The site has also reached out to ask us if we want to come back next year. Runa, Jen, and Genefe will not be autocrating this event next year (or Baronial Birthday) –
if you are interested in running events for the Barony please volunteer and reach out.
We are looking for someone to run Troll. Also, please be on the look out for a Google Form to sign-up for set-up on Friday, breakdown on Saturday or even to help in the kitchen on Saturday.

Crown Tournament is coming before Holiday Faire. Their Excellencies will be attending. Lady Aygul has stepped down as Head Retainer for Their Excellencies. Lady Rignach will be taking over. If you are interested in Retaining or Providing for a Hospitality Table – please contact Lady Rignach. Think about sponsoring a day board with a group.
We are still short a Chatelaine. We need this position filled. It is a VITAL position to grow and maintain our populace. Genefe will include this in the BLOG.
