Greetings Medieval Readers,

This week, your own Chronicler gratefully passes the pen to the Lady Katherine, the fearless Autocrat of this years’ Holiday Faire.

“As event steward for last weekend’s Holiday Faire, I have much to be grateful for. In no real particular order, I want to give thanks to those who made it all possible:

Our **38** vendors, and everyone who came to shop!

Arielle de Pontoise, with assistance from Rita die Perle von der Wetterau: coordinating an astounding A&S display highlighting Stierbach, and also arranging the “Fairest” competition. Porfina arranged and taught classes at the event, giving the youth their own activities.

Lucy Wiggan and her staff – on site and prep team – for a delicious, filling, hot, and on time lunch! (that delicious cheddar? She tells me it’s Dubliner brand.)

The marshals: Bumi (MiC, heavy), Celestria Alexandre d’Amiens (rapier), Treya min Teanga (archery), Eoghan O Suileabhain (thrown weapons), Epy Pengelly (equestrian)

Etan Askani for coordinating a beautiful concert, somehow timed for the sun’s appearance from behind the day’s clouds

Edward Perry: MoL, SCORES, and locking in marshals

Ragnar Leifsson and Forannan Glorach for heraldic consulting throughout the day. Special shout out to Forannan for staying well after closing to finish his consults.

Eachan de Baird for inadvertently being my odd jobs man.

Runa for running Gold Key.

Cincinnatus for stepping in as Baronial court herald, a role I sorely missed performing for the event, but delighted seeing it in such capable hands

Ceridwen ferch Rhys ap Michael as reservationist, muddling through the many spreadsheets and SCORES complications with me, in addition to handling all the checks and cash. Gaius and Emily (whose SCA name I’ve shamefully forgotten) were with Ceridwen at gate all day seeing over 400 people through, and I know others assisted as well.

Event planning advice came from many quarters, including Ceridwen, Signy Biarnardottir, Epy, Iacobo, and others. Ceridwen in particular has a knack for offering concise bits of advice exactly when I need it, even though I didn’t know I did.

Genefe and her ninja-like team for making the halls look stunning on Friday, and taking it all down again Saturday. I still have no clue where the giant rolling steps came from or went to!

Friday setup including Dunstan, Dexter, Jackie, Eachan, Treya, Norbert, Ceridwen, and Richard Wymarc. I know there were others, but on a site so large, I didn’t see all of you or, sadly, get your names!

the Bitter End takedown crew: Jasper, Helena, Signy, and Dunstan with a special shout to Eachan, Arielle, Norbert, and Dunstan for the Sunday trip to Baronial storage.

Thank you to all who made the magic real!!
