From Their Excellencies:
We are back from Pennisc! We had a fabulous camp this year – Thank you to our amazing camp stewards. The weather was pleasant, dry, and sunny for the second week of war. We had a court and a new Baronial Rapier Champion: Leah. Leah also wowed us at our Bardic with her poems, songs, and ukulele.
We also recognized Allysia de Oliveri with the Order of St. Roche. Thank you to Eliott for the small combat scroll 🙂
His Excellency picked up a volunteer shift every day he was here. He encourages us all to volunteer when and where we can.
Updates from the Seneschal:
The next Curia will take place on September 14th at 3 pm. The link will be put out as we get closer to September. If you are interested in attending Curia, mark it on your calendars. These meetings are where Kingdom law is debated and adopted. If you have strong opinions on any of the topics that will be covered – please let their Excellencies or our Seneschal know so they can speak for you.
Officer Reports:
QuarterMaster: No report.
Exchequer: A separate report with financial details is attached at the end.
We are looking for a deputy exchequer!
Knights Marshall: No report.
Minister of the list: Lady Jenefer has made contact with Mistress Brianna and, although she has moved out of our area, she is willing to continue serving in this position until her warrant expires.
MOAS: Classes are in the works. Plans will be posted on our website! We are also starting to think about A&S at Baronial Birthday. Ideas are welcome!
Just a reminder that in-person classes are generally held at Bethel Lutheran Church (room B7) 8712 Plantation Ln, Manassas, VA 20110.
Herald: No report
Chronicler: The blog continues. Newsletters are being sent to Kingdom as they are published 🙂 Send Genefe content for the blog please. (chronicler@stierbach.atlantia.sca.org) Thank you to Norbert for the content last month!
Chatelaine: No report
WebMinister: The website is doing fine. Please continue to submit materials for the blog so we can get that out to the populace!
Old Business:
Baronial Birthday Update:
We have about 12 people registered for Baronial Birthday but we would love to have more! Insurance is acquired. We will have music and possibly dance! We are looking for people to help with parking, someone to run children’s activities, and someone to run games. Rita will send an updated list of volunteer positions 🙂
Populace Comments:
Master Richard has 20 leather bag kits ready to go and is volunteering his time to teach a class at Baronial Birthday. Thank you Richard!
Her Excellency spent some time looking at our Barony’s presence on the OP and noticed that the list of populace is not accurate. It seems as though many are not as active as they used to be. She hopes that everyone who attends Baronial Birthday should invite one person – maybe someone who has not been out in a bit or even a newcomer!
Lord Norbert let us know that we are starting an official experimental program for mounted to ground combat. Look for more details! The POC for the Atlantia Ground to Mounted program is churchill05@sbc.edu (Donna Zarra de la Vega). This is an experimental program, and will ramp up no faster than Donna Zarra can manage.
Closing Remarks from their Excellencies
We will be attending Baronial Birthday and look forward to seeing you there. We will also be at Fall Coronation. War of the Wings is also coming up. Please look for our progress once it is finalized.
We had several students from Mary Washington camping with us at Pennsic. It was so great to spend some time with them. We also hosted the first Intercollegiate Bardic and heard some amazing stories and songs. We look forward to continuing this new tradition and also finding other ways to draw a younger demographic into our shared hobby.
PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! We accept emails, messages, and award recommendations through the ESP. The ESP is really the best way to get us info, but we will take what we can get! Send us stuff and tell us all the great things that are going on! Thank you to those who are sending us messages 🙂
Meeting adjourned at 7:42 pm.
