Welcome back from Pennsic to everyone who went!
From their Excellencies:
Pennsic was awesome. Stierbach camp was fantastic! We had music and great food. Everyone pitched in to help. The camp survived the rain without flooding! Now Mistress Helena’s vigil was held at camp. Our Baronial Bard Lord Etan scheduled two concerts for our Baronial music group. We had the most volunteers of any group at the Children’s Fete!
We have some possibilities for Camp Stewards for next year – we will need replacements for next year. We recognized several Stierbachers at a Pennsic court. We are looking for more reward recommendations for Baronial Birthday.
Pennsic was a blast and we are very much looking forward to Baronial Birthday! Her Excellency is also teaching a class on Greek and Roman Garb on August 22nd. The details are posted at the end of the meeting minutes.

Officer Reports
Seneschal: There are no updates from the previous month. Please make sure that we are getting our official activities onto our Baronial calendar. Email Master Richard to get your activities onto our website!
QuarterMaster: Not in attendance.
Exchequer: A deposit check was written for Holiday Faire. A copy of this month’s financial report is included in the meeting notes.
Chatelaine: No demos or newcomers to speak of right now. One of the challenges we are starting to run into is that people that are not social media users are having trouble tracking down local activities. We should get our web calendar up to date!
Knights Marshall: SOAP continues on Wednesdays. Several events are coming up including Battle on the Bay – let’s see if we can field a group of fighters and show Atlantia that Stierbach is amazing at more than archery 🙂
Minister of the list: Not in attendance
MOAS: Welcome back! We have a bunch of classes. Her Excellency will be teaching a class on August 22nd. Details are posted at the end of our meeting minutes. We will have a Zoom meeting on September 5th to learn about the Nine Muses. September 19th will be Parasols Part 2 where you can finish what was started at the last class. Our next equestrian practice is the 15th of September – look for more details.
New Herald: We had two courts at Pennsic. Her Excellency posted a report on Facebook – including an award for Lady Katherine herself.
Chronicler: The blog that will serve as our newsletter is up and running. Please send content to Baroness Genefe Wölfelin (mpruitt085[at]gmail.com) Genefe needs to verify with the Kingdom Chronicler that our new blog will fulfill the requirements of our newsletter.
WebMinister: Master Richard asks for specifics in what is missing from the website. He will be turning our blog into a (.pdf) once a month to post on the website. Master Richard is also looking for historical images of our first two sets of Baronage. Gaius is currently updating our history page.
Event Updates:
Baronial Birthday – September 14th at the winery in Culpepper. This site is gorgeous and has a ton of space. A social media push began this week. SCORES is up and running. Lady Runa has agreed to run Troll for the event so that means that all staff positions are filled 🙂 Wonderful activities are being planned by the staff. We are looking for volunteers to help with set-up and tear-down. Please contact Lady Jenefer de Winter if you can help. This event is also a Royal Progress! Check the event website for more details!
Holiday Faire – SCORES was submitted should be going up soon. We are finalizing staff and looking for more volunteers. More details to come next month.
Closing Remarks from their Excellencies
PLEASE SUBMIT REWARD RECOMMENDATIONS! Her Excellency enchanted everyone with new hand signals to express our love for the Barony 🙂 Special thanks to Lady Rita for leading our food plan at Pennsic and cooking for everyone for five straight days!!!
We are still looking for a land steward for WoW – we have not had a Baronial Encampment at War of the Wings since 2022.
Please also contact Her Excellency if you would like a hand-out for the class she is teaching on the 22nd! YAY the Best Barony!!
The meeting was adjourned at 7:37 pm.
Upcoming class details: A&S Class: GREEK & ROMAN garments
Clothing for both women and men consisted of two main garments – a tunic (either a peplos or chiton) and a cloak (himation).
The tunic, in various forms, was the basic garment for all classes for the roman. Important Roman men would wear a long robe called a toga. Women would wear a dress called a stola over their tunics which fastened at the shoulders. (by our Baroness Mistress Anne of Silver Lakes)
The activity will be held on August 22, 2024, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at
Bethel Lutheran Church (room B7)
8712 Plantation Ln, Manassas, VA 20110
